Caught 2 movies over the weekend... kudos to movie addict ah wan who managed to make me haul my ass down to cathay orchard on a tiring fri nite to watch spidey, n followed by eternal summer on a sun afternoon.
Spidey was a lil draggy but the bad boy image of tobey maguire as venom (when he's out of the outfit) isn't too bad really. Reminds me of punk rock bands like green day and good charlotte. Yummy!
Eternal Summer was naughty. The director was obviously just finding an excuse to show good-looking young nubile teens in sex scenes and the plot was almost entirely derived for the purpose of those scenes. There was this uncle beside me who was there only for the gay scene! gosh. he walked out in the middle of the show to answer a call, then when he got back, he was shuffling in his seat the entire time trying to keep himself warm and right after the gay scene, he stood up immediately and left! i am appalled....
Anyways, one of the boys looks like a much better version of jay chow, so me is very much happy oogling him in the show. =D

spidey in black is not venom... venom is acutally eddie brock with the black symbiote and appears only towards the end of the movie.
to make it easy to differentiate, black spidey (peter parker) is leaner and skinnier and no mouth is shown.
venom (eddie brock)is much bigger sized and has a big mouth with sharp teeth and green saliva.

He's just Spiderman with the black symbiote merged with his Spiderman suit. In the comics, he made a black suit (without the symbiote) and used it as his regular suit for awhile 'cos he felt it looked good (whereby he could wear the black suit but not be under any effects from the black symbiote).
the black thingy is called a symbiote, not venom.
the symbiote is a living alien organism that bonds with another living organism (usually a human, although it may bond with non human animals) in order to survive.
Venom = symbiote + eddie brock
peter parker + symbiote = spidey
peter parker + normal uniform = spidey
